Graduate Student Completions Across Sectors
Across all student groups in 2016, public four-year institutions awarded 47.3 percent of all graduate credentials, private nonprofit four-year institutions awarded 44.6 percent, and for-profit institutions awarded 8.1 percent. A greater proportion of Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander (25.7 percent) and Black or African American (21.9 percent) students earned their graduate credentials at for-profit institutions than any other group.
