Undergraduate Enrollment Across Race and Ethnicity

As the undergraduate student body became more diverse over time, the share of domestic White students as a proportion of total undergraduate enrollment declined from 65.9 percent in 1999–2000 to 47.6 percent in 2019–20. In 2019–20, 49.9 percent of all domestic undergraduate students identified as being a race or ethnicity other than White, compared with percent in 1999–2000. Much of the growth in the student of color population can be attributed to the growth of Hispanic or Latino enrollment.
