FAFSA Completion Rates
Students who wish to receive federal financial aid must first submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA is used to determine eligibility for grants, loans, and work study, and is often required by many state and institutional aid programs as well. In 2015–16, over 70 percent of domestic undergraduate students completed the FAFSA. By race and ethnicity, FAFSA filing rates ranged from 67.5 percent of Asian students to 84.4 percent of Black or African American students.
