Number of Public High School Graduates in the U.S.

The total number of public high school graduates grew from 2.5 million in 1999–2000 to over 3.1 million in 2011–12, an increase of 23.3 percent. Projections indicate that the growth in the number of high school graduates will slow. Between 2011–12 and 2025–26, projections show the total number of public high school graduates will increase by a little more than 274,000 students or 8.7 percent.
